Collection of waste from the service sector is in this set of criteria defined as the transport of waste from the collection point (offices for example) to the transfer/sorting site. The collection and treatment of service sector waste is usually carried out as a common procurement, while we, in this set of criteria, cover sustainability specifications, criteria and contract terms exclusively for the collection part of the procurement, and the transport link that is hereby covered.
It is important to emphasise that the set of criteria is indicative, and the criteria are meant to supplement the contracting authority’s procurement expertise. The contracting authority will obtain insight into what the market can supply through market research. Through supplier dialogue the contracting authority can receive input from the market with respect to what level of ambition one can aim for. The contracting authorities may then stipulate clear minimum requirements for the environmental characteristics based on their market knowledge. If the contracting authority has a need that cannot be covered with today's solutions, he / she can consider a procurement procedure that opens for innovation. Last, but not least, it is important to pay attention to contract follow-up through the entire period that the contract runs.
Collection of household waste is in this set of criteria defined here as the transport of waste from the collection point (household) to the transfer/sorting site. This is usually carried out as a single procurement (while transport for treatment is a separate procurement).
We have divided this set of criteria into two subcategories:
